... Dave Matthews for best male vocalist. Dave was the winner of a Wammie last night in Washington DC, in the category of Alternative Rock - Best Male Vocalist.

What is a Wammie, you ask? (I didn't know, either.) Apparently, it's the more common name for the Annual Washington Area Music Awards. You can get more info here from the Washington Post.
