As a part of our overall income stream, necessary to pay the bills, nancies.org uses Google's text ad system to supplement its own text ad revenue. These ads are provided by Google automatically, without any possibility of review by nancies.org. The ads are selected by an automatic ranking system used by Google that matches advertisers up with nancies.org's based on the use of keywords. Consequently, the ads that appear may sometimes be odd, out of place, or even somewhat inappropriate.

In particular, ads have been appearing for scalped tickets. Although they are not illegal, the sale and purchase of scalped tickets has long been distasteful in the DMB fan community. To that end, nancies.org is working with Google in an effort to have them stop placing these ads on nancies.org. On a routine basis, we look for such advertisements on nancies.org and place them on a list of advertisers with whom we do not wish to work.

Not only does nancies.org not endorse any of these advertisements, but we actively discourage patronizing some of them.
