This morning, Red Light Management, DMB's management group, sent out a notice regarding their newly-created fan club, known as "The Warehouse." This is a traditional fan club, with advance ticket purchases, an exclusive website, membership card, etc. It costs $30 / year. This appears, at least on the face, to be a way to foster better fan / band communications, and very much in line with DMB's purely fan-based and largely Internet-based rise to popularity.

Unfortunately, the Nancies mailing list, on which this website is based, disappeared from Red Light's servers last night. No notice has yet been sent from Red Light regarding this, nor has an explanation been offered.

It appears that the Nancies mailing list has essentially been turned into a pay-based service. This conclusion is based only on the above information and nothing more. Naturally, if necessary, nancies.org will create a new mailing list with due haste; we're prepared to do this immediately. We will present more information as we learn more.

Thanks to all of you who took time to fill out our recent survey. In response, we are pleased to announce the Warehouse, the Dave Matthews Band official fan association.

Members of the Warehouse will receive:

-Opportunities to purchase tickets to shows in advance of general ticket release, beginning with the Spring 1999 tour

-Access to certain special recordings

-Opportunities to attend gatherings with band members at select shows

-Easy entry into regular contests for merchandise and ticket giveaways, ticket upgrades, passes, and travel packages to shows

-In-depth articles about the band, the crew, the shows, and the music

-Entry to the Warehouse web site and chat room

-A membership package that includes, a membership card, a message from the band, a "from the road" poster, and a limited edition release of a Dave Matthews sketch

The Warehouse will be an evolving concept. New features and surprises will appear as we receive feedback from members.
