Whitley Wasted; New Openers

DMB has removed ATO Records artist Chris Whitley from their openers line-up, presumably as a result of last week's debacle in Oregon. The Oregonian recently reported that his Thursday, July 19th performance at the Aladdin Theater ended after just four songs. Whitley came on stage and "behaved erratically, missing vocal cues, singing almost inaudibly and playing haphazardly." After Whitley asked the audience if anybody had any marijuana to spare, many people began to leave the performance. Whitley was escorted off stage and the show ended abruptly. The Dirty Dozen Brass Band is now opening in Saratoga Springs on 07/29 and 07/30, Charlottesville bluesman Corey Harris is opening in Hershey on 08/01, and Soulive is opening on 08/03 and 08/04.
