Miller's Sold

The Charlottesville bar where DMB got their start has been sold. Two decades ago last July, Steve Tharpe purchased the Miller's Drugstore building and turned it into a bar, one that soon became known as a popular jazz venue and, in the mid-90s, as the home of Dave Matthews Band. During the weekend of the band's April homecoming show, Miller's made a small fortune selling newly-minted t-shirts to the thousands and thousands of DMB fans visiting Mecca. The new owner, Scottie Kaylor, will take control shortly, and intends to make a number of changes along the lines of expansion. Presumably, a new name will not be among those changes.
