The band's charitable works organization, Bama Works, has donated $114,576 to the University of Virginia's Madison House. The sum is a percentage of the proceeds from April 21st's sold-out charity concert in Charlottesville, Virginia. Madison House is an organization that enables roughly 3,000 UVa students to volunteer for a wide variety of area non-profit organizations, from migrant aid to day care, tutoring to adopt-a-grandparent. The $114k represents over half of the service volunteer organization's annual budget. Bama Works regularly donates similarly staggering sums of money to Charlottesville-area organizations as well as the occasional national interest, without issuing so much as a press release in the process. UVa's Cavalier Daily has the full story.
