Busted Stuff Released

Today, Busted Stuff hits the streets. The album, the band's sixth major release, comes just 17 months after Everyday, the band's pop-influenced February 2001 album. Busted Stuff is particularly notable because it largely consists of reworked songs from the legendary Lillywhite Sessions, the results of abandoned mid-2000 recording efforts that were leaked over the Internet shortly after the release of Everyday. Busted Stuff is considered to be a strong return to the band's roots, a result, in part, of the fan backlash against the widely-criticized Everyday. Producer Steve Harris tells nancies.org that it was his goal to make Busted Stuff "an honest record," as close to pure Dave Matthews Band as possible. No doubt there will be plenty of opinions in the coming weeks regarding whether or not that goal has been accomplished.
