Amandla! at Alabama Festival

Scott Scharding writes: "Amandla! will be the closing film at this year's Sidewalk Moving Picture Festival, Sunday, September 22 in Birmingham, AL. The film will be shown in the historic Carver Theatre, home of the Alabama Jazz Hall of Fame, just next to Birmingham's Civil Rights District. This should certainly bring an emotional close to the film festival." Amandla! A Revolution in Four Part Harmony is being co-produced by ATO Productions, an outgrowth of Dave Matthews' ATO Records that was announced in February. Amandla! is a documentary that focuses on the role that music played in the fight against apartheid in South Africa. It won two Sundance Awards at the 2002 Sundance Film Festival. ATO Records will also be releasing the soundtrack to the movie.
