Some Devil Released

By Waldo Jaquith
Some Devil, Dave Matthews' first solo album, went on sale today. It was recorded at Seattle's Studio Litho earlier this year, with drummer Brady Blade, bassist Tony Hall, guitarist Tim Reynolds, orchestra Seattlemusic Group, and guest appearances by guitarist Trey Anastasio, the Total Experience Gospel Choir, organist Alex Veley, and the Dirty Dozen Brass Band. Some Devil was produced by Stephen Harris, who previously produced Dave Matthews Band's Busted Stuff. "Gravedigger," the album's first single, has enjoyed airplay for some weeks now. The album is the second to be released by a Dave Matthews Band member independent of DMB, with the first having been violinist Boyd Tinsley's June release of True Reflections.
