We all know that for the most part, there's a certain aspect of partying and tailgating that problems stem from -- drinking and smoking. I'm not going to tell you that you should or should not partake; lord knows that I've fallen asleep, passed out, and crashed earlier than I'd have liked to due to partying in such a manner.
My only advice is to use your head. If it's 90 degrees out and you've got no shade around, don't see how many beers or shots of Jager you can put back. Drink some water in between and use moderation. Everyone gets sick on occasion, sure -- but it's no fun having to be babysat, and it's even worse to be the babysitter. Don't impose.

Above all, remember that tailgating is one of the best ways to meet other DMB fans and make connections, so be sure to say hello to those folks walking by -- you never know who you'll meet!
