Official Site Redesigned
By Waldo JaquithApr.28.2006
The band's official site has undergone its first redesign since July of 2002, though it's not clear that it's an improvement. It's a blinking, orange-on-blue inflexible layout with a scrunched-up menu and rather an odd use of space. Unusually for band management, who likes to keep things in-house, the work was not only contracted out to New York design firm The Chopping Block, but the company is credited in the code of the site. Indicating a likely rush-job, the site's meta tags (search terms under which the site will be found) include only "chopping," "block," "things," "stuff," and "rockin tunes," while the code is thick with errors. The new design is the sixth iteration of the Dave Matthews Band site since its 1995 launch. Thanks to Billy M. for the tip.
