What Would You Say

Dave S.
Well, it may have been a couple years ago, but it was not a show I'll forget, for three reasons: 1. I have a tape of it, 2. the show ROCKED!, and 3. It was my first DMB show ever! And even after having seen 10 more DMB shows, it still holds up as one of the best I've seen. The band was incredibly on, helped perhaps by the fact that Syracuse audiences are incredibly laid-back and well-behaved. The band went off on every jam they could, with particularly intense jams on Nancies, Two Step, Granny, Billies, and Ants as definite high points. LIOG and #41 were particularly sweet and well performed. One oddity was no jam at the end of Jimi Thing! Leroi sounded like he was starting to go into it, but Dave jumped striaght into the intro of WWYS! Was the band trying to get out quick? Possibly, 'cuz Dave seemed to really like the bar at Hotel Syracuse... Best Davespeak from the show: "I've been getting a frog in my throat... i thought i got rid of that frog a week ago, but now its coming back! f**k that frog! hey, i know you're not supposed to be able to blow frogs up with firecrackers, but i'm gonna find this frog, stick a firecracker up its ass and blow it into the motherf**kin' sky!" On the whole, a good, but not legendary show. Probably an 8.5 on the DMB-o-meter.
