This was a very solid show. There seemed to be more energy in the Jones Beach crowd tonight than there was last night. However, Boyd and LeRoi were both less active tonight than they were last night. David, though, seemed to be more into this show than he had been into any other show I've seen or heard about. He was groovin' on stage like noone I've ever seen. Once again, the band brought out several special guests. Jeff Coffin joined the band on "#41" with Bela Fleck. The subsequent jam was excellent, and it was nice to see the band's creative and improvisational juices flowing. Two different sax players, whom I do not know, joined in on "Minarets" and "So Much To Say." The guest on "Minarets" added some beautiful sax lines to the mix and may have provided for the best jam on Minarets in the last few years. On "So Much to Say," the guest sax player helped thicken even more LeRoi's baritone sax lines. Other memorable moments were a fantastic rendition of "Ants Marching" with Bela Fleck, a great jam at the end of "Typical Situation," a standard -- yet still moving -- version of "Recently," and a great rendition of "Lie in our Graves." If it takes guest performers to pull the band out of the mold in which it has been for the last several years, I say keep 'em coming!

First i must say that Bela Fleck was an awesome opening jam. Victor Wooten was one of the best bass players i've ever heard. Jimi Thing was a nice suprise opener. the Jam at the end was really solid and nice. #41 was passionate as usual but the jam was one of the best i've ever heard. Best of What's Around rocked. The solos were cool there. Recently was classic. The song was played in the usual live way. Classic and cool. Wyonona is a nice song but i really don't know if it is made for the band. i don't know if it reall goes anywhere. Crash into Me is nothing special in concert. It sounds the same as on the album. Graves rocked. the sax solo guy was pretty cool. I enjoy any guests he brings along. The rap on minarets ruled! The jam was cool, but the crowd wasn't into it enough. Typical Situation, was nice, but again not enough crowd enthusiasm. SMTS and Too Much are nothing special in concert. But the jam in between was worthwhile. the little baby jam rocked and was a hightlight of the show. Ants Marching was a great jam. 2 step was done well, but i didn't like it as a closer. The encore was mellow at first. Tripping Billies ruled! the lights when crazy and so did i. The show was well played, sounded great, and had great effects. I wish dave would've played more unreleased tunes: #36, Granny, True Reflections. The crowd was dissapointed Popper didn't show up. Carter should've had a big drum solo. The band rules!

Very dissaponting. No energy from the band or the crowd. The show in Saratoga was 5 times better. Bela Fleck stole the show. Without Bela Fleck this tour would be the same as last summer, and the fall tour. They should really think about playing some other songs, because people who see them more than once on the same tou expect different shows. Hey Dave mix it up. Granny? 36? How about Crazy(captain of this ship) for the opening song of the encore. Is Chicago? The only thing holding this tour together is the guests. Bring out Doughty, he can get the crowd going. Poudest monkey? DMB should dissapear for a year, to calm the storm.
