I will begin my review by describing the American Music Festival. The AMF is a festival held at a ski resort about two hours from Denver. The people that attend the festival are people from the Denver area, and most people have attended it for years. Well, this was my first time to the festival, this was my first time to Colorado. I traveled all the way from Alabama to see Dave and Tim. Anyways, the gates opened at 8:30 and AGR started playing at 10:30, they were great. By the way, Dave and Tim are playing with AGR 7/15/97. Like I said, gates opened at 8:30; I got in line at 4:00 A.M. to get a good seat for the show, and I did. the crowd ther was awful though. One guy standing in front of me said,"Hey man, I can't wait to see the fiddler guy!" I about passed out! He was talking about Boyd. I just could not understand why he thought Boyd was going to be there and why he called him a "fiddler"? People were crowd surfing also. One group next to me picked thier friend up and then dropped him. I was glad they dropped him! Another guy jumped up on stage and got tackled by security! Dave and I were getting pissed, but the rest of the crowd seemed to enjoy it. Well, the show was amazing. Dave was tripping all through the first of the show. Dave played a new song or maybe it was just a cover? The new song went at about the speed of Satellite. Stream was incredible, but the crowd didn't pay attention to it. When Dave reached the whistle part on Let You Down, he said,"I can't whistle like Leroi Moore, but if I could, I would." Dave spiced up all the songs, he didn't just play them like the album songs. Well, overall, despite the crowd, I give this show a 9 and a half.
