Strange, Strange Setlist. It started out real mainstrean with So Much To Say, Too Much, and Rapunzel but then saw a stretch of rare concert songs. Drive In Drive Out was made more intense by great lighting on the outro. Timmy contributed more than he did last night while Bela did a little less. I think Tim won the duel in Two Step. Paul Coffin made an awesome solo on 41. Proudest Monkey and Help Myself got no crowd response but were unreal anyway. The crowd did realize the amazing singing and jamming of Boyd on True Reflections. Reynolds ruled on Crush; his solo cranked out for four minutes. Two Step was jammed out again tonight, with it fading away at the end and then coming back strong one more time. No Stay or Crash Into Me. It was my 8th show and this is the first time that this ever happened. No complaints. Encore was legit. Lover Lay down put the crowd in a sedated state and then watchtower absolutely tore the roof off the place. 27,000 screamed their heads off. Important Note: Timmy's solo in Watchtower included the sam jam that Hendrix does on his version. The lights on "THE WIND BEGIN TO HOWL" were an amazing way to end a great two nights here in Phili with Bela and Tim.

OH MY GOD!!!!!!!!! That is all i have to say for tonight.......this night was unbelivable! I mean it was great.......this was my first concert ever at the FU Center and i'm happy with it. But let me just a couple things before i give my review. People......fellow, real, fans.......not the radio ones but the ones who like to hear True Reflections (which i'll be getting to later) and STJL.......and so on........we must stay together......i've been hearing people complain about the radio fans and how they can ruin the show a bit, but let us not forget why you are there........to see the greatest band to set there ffet on the stage. Now those who have gone to the concerts more then once.......consider yourself lucky because when the Dave Matthews Band goes into the Music Hall of Fame, you can tell your kids.......or grandkids......that you got to experience and see that band. I've followed this band since 91 and no matter what happens......has happend.......will happen......it won't tear me away from this band. And for some of you other people......you don't have to get drunk to have a fun time (that goes out to the girl that was in front of me) But hey i've spoke my mind enough let's get down to the good stuff Seek Up- always a great opener no matter how many times i hear it it sends chills down my spine Pantla Naga Papa/Rapunzel- this song just makes ya wanna dance all night......i love to her it no matter what So Much To Say and Too Much and DDTW- all radio songs.....i think Dave just wanted to get them outta the way to make room for the real stuff Proudest Monkey- stood up for the whole song......i like it so much live.....i think it was the thin line for the next couple of songs Help Myself- THANK GOD.........So many shows and i've been waiting for this one........so great.....but just when i thought it was going to be crash....... #41-this is one of the songs that made it such a great night for me.... i loved it when bela and the man came out......great solos by everyone Drive In Drive Out- YEAH!!!!!!!! So great.......hurt my voice singing it Crush- I like it.......not because it is on the radio but because they can change it around so much.......like the great Timmy did tonight by the way Tim is a midget!! but nothing will top the song that we were in store for next......and i new it would be something special because Dave was going around to everyone and telling them what they should do for the crowd......and we were grateful for.......... TRUE REFLECTIONS- Who would fucking believe it! I swear i felt like i was going to cry......die......pee myself.......something.......i don't know....but damn that Boyd has a great voice! Two Step- i love this one......i like it better on Red Rocks until.........they just stopped! and Tim jumped over to bela and just looked at him......said a few words and then hit a small lead......bela returned with a blow.... but my friends i will have say that tonight Timmy was the victor Trippin Billies- Boyd did his thing.......as we know he always does.....that's why we love him.......great closer Encore: Lover Lay Down- now i am a man and i should keep my rep high but i tell you that song is so sad and sweet......felt like i was going to cry Watchtower- could of had Ants but hey what the hell........Timmy exploded......and he also put a little Stairway to Heaven at the end and well it was sweet....glad to see it......and so ended the show:( Guys this was a great show and i would just like to ask anyone who recorded it please email me.....i'll give you my address and all but damn i want that show......well ya'll i talked enough......goodnight

Submitted by Eric Weng Wow. If last night can be characterized as high paced and jammed out, tonight may be described as slower, more mellow, with old and unreleased songs night. Proudest Monkey was the first that characterized the night. Though this was slow and everyone sat down, Leroi and Carter made the last half of this song beautiful. Next, Dave introduced their next song by saying, "This song is called Help Myself." The crowd did not get back up to their feet, since most did not know this. However, after Dave brought out Bela and Jeff, and they played #41, the crowd was back on their feet. This song was over 19 minutes long! After Crush, Boyd went up to the microphone, and True Reflections was played. I cannot believe I saw this live! Very few around me knew this song, but I'm sure they won't forget it. This concert's setlist is definitely more mellow than last night, but with all the older stuff played, I'm not complaining.

WOW! In contrast to last night, this show was just plain different. The crowd was much more into it and definitely more loud, and they sure got a treat. True Reflections! Help Myself! Incredible! First off, the Flecktones are awesome, and dave even came out to sing with them. Then Dave & The Boys just took off. A great seek up opener with solos for all. Rapunzel was great and I really wanted to hear Too Much even if it was the same old jam. Monkey and Help Myself were surprises, while 41 was an incredible 20 minute jams with solos for all the boys and Bela and Jeff Coffin. True Reflections was incredible much better than any version I have heard, and a great crush where Tim went absolutely nuts. Two Step was pretty similar to last night complete with the dueling banjos, and Tripping Billies was an awesome closer, it really got the crowd up and dancing. Lover Lay Down was much need off Under The Table with tonight being very Crash-heavy and an incredible Watchtower. I was very impressed at how much fun they were having and they were all joking around and talking and mocking each other. It was great to see. An unreal two nights!

The two nights of the boys that I've seen compare to no other experience in my life. While last nite was Dave's--and to a certain extent, Carter's, this nite belonged to Boyd alone. He had amazing kick-ass solos in most of the songs and True Reflections appeared for the first time in awhile (first time I ever heard it). The Tim Stairway solo appeared, which cheered the heart of this Zeppelin fan much, and Lover Lay Down perfectly complimented I'll Back You Up last night. (If only we had the Christmas Song). #41 tonite ran almost as long as the 31 minutes it did at a recent gig. Seek Up was almost as long too. There was a bit too much repitition in the sets, but whatever gaffes made in sing choosing were glossed over in my mind by TR, Help Myself, 41 and LLD. The rest was standard, most of which I spoke of in my review of last night's show. I love talking about the shows with people who've been there, so if you were at 11/30 or 12/1, mail me. Keep the memories alive...Rock

All I have to say is Help Myself and True Reflections in the same night!!!! I couldn't believe it and to top it all off no Satellite or Crash. These two shows were like day and night. Monday nights show was totally one for the teeny boppers and tonights was for the long time Dave fans. Guys, this show blew me away!!! First of all hats off to Bela and the Flecktones. They are so talented it's sick. It's annoying to see all the people at these shows that can't see past the fact that he isn't Dave Matthews, but then again most opening bands don't get the respect they deserve. Victor was awesome as usual. Next Tim Reynolds is the best, he added so much throughout the night along with Bela and Jeff too. Tonights show has got to be the most interesting setlist I've ever seen. I doubt that they have ever played Help Myself and True Reflections on the same night, besides when the hell was the last time they played Help Myself? I'll have to check on that one. Right after I heard Help Myself I said to my friends "well now you know there is no chance of hearing True Reflections" because I didn't think they would play many more songs that the mainstream fans didn't know. The weird thing is that I sent an email to Y100 asking Ben Maxwell to please ask Dave to play True reflections when he met him at the Sonic Session earlier today. I doubt he really did, but if he did then he is the man. I have never been to a show like this one and it was my 8th. Definitely at the top of my list. From experience in two night shows, the second one is always better. The best was when I expected Crash or Satellite to be the first encore song they played Lover Lay Down. My friend Kristy was dying to hear it and they played it as part of their encore. I would've liked to hear I'll Back You Up again, it was so incredible on Monday night. Both encores were incredible though. Warehouse was sick and Watchtower rocked like I've never seen before. What a night, definitely one I'll never forget. One last thing, when Dave started playing True Reflections I jumped into the air and everyone around me was staring at me. It was sooooo funny, they had absolutely no clue what song it was. I couldn't belive what I was hearing. You have got to love the three part harmony at the end, no other DMB song has that. All the musicians that set foot on that stage tonight outdid themselves. This show nothing less than phenominal!!!!

Well, even though I've driven as much as 6 hours to see a DMB show, I'm not sure this one was worth the 1.5 from Baltimore... a few reasons why this was one of the least memorable of the eight shows i've seen: 1. the venue sucks: sound quality was very very poor... muddy bass, nasty echoes; also, bitchy security/usher people. 2. The band was fine but was far from en fuego. 3. Well, nothing really noteworthy other than the setlist! That said, the setlist had a heapin' helpin' of surprises, including the first time True Reflections came out on the Winter tour, Help Myself (which gets slightly more rockin' in each version i hear... but still, hardly one of their best), and Proudest Monkey, which i never heard before with the whole band. #41 with bela and jeff was truly one of the evening's highlights, i only wish they brought all the other flecktones out like they have on some rare occasions before! Speaking of which, anyone who has not seen the flecktones by now: you have no clue what you're missing. 'nuf said. Regarding Tim: while there are plenty of times when his presence is a big plus (ie. his duel with bela in Two Step!), sometimes the added noise was just a distraction -- there are some times when he's there and doesn't add anything. Regarding butch: way too low in the mix, he was hardly noticeable! Really, the only criticism I can level at the show besides venue/sound probs (ouch! feeback sqeak!) is that it just felt kinda... dare i say it?...routine? It was good, but it just lacked the spark of greatness, thus placing it at, say, maybe a 6 or 7 on the DMB-o-meter, getting bonus points for #41 and the setlist. One last thing: the screaming teenybopper factor. god bless 'em, can i help it if their shrieks are more annoying each time i hear 'em? my friend said it best: "how many of these girls do you think would gladly f--- dave matthews if he asked them to?" the answer to that, my friends, is just one of the reasons i tries to play in a band. The bass - so with that, god bless Stefan Lessard, Victor Wooten, and the fine folk at Warwick. Good night and god bless.

Well, although this was only my 2nd DMB concert (after the night before being my first!), I felt like a seasoned veteran because of my long and extensive Internet-related "fan-ship" of the band. Although the show on the 30th was great (partly 'cause I had nothing to compare it too), tonight was awesome. I enjoyed it much more, even though I was with far fewer friends tonight. Between the two nights, I heard virtually every single song I wanted to hear from them. Another huge plus: out of 31 total songs for the two nights, only FIVE were repeats. I was very impressed with this, because, while I know they try to vary their setlists, especially when playing a venue consecutively, it didn't always seem like they did as much as they should. I got to see the Flecktones tonight, and I was impressed. They really reminded me of DMB's music, and they were very entertaining. They played from about 7:05 to 7:50. Then, at about 8:10, the band took the stage. The crowd went absolutely crazy, producing a definite roar that all but drowned out Dave's thanks. I made one accurate "call" tonight, and it was my first one. I guessed that 'Seek Up' would be the opener, and, lo and behold, it was. I was thrilled, and it lasted over twenty minutes. It was awesome! Next, the always-present 'PNP' ==> 'Rapunzel', which was very similar to the night before's performance, but still very enjoyable. And the crowd loved it. Next came 'So Much to Say', which I was a little surprised by, but which was very good. Then 'Too Much', which was even better. The crowd just *loved* both of these, so it heightened everyone's enjoyment of 'em. 'Don't Drink the Water' came next, and I convinced my friend, who didn't care for this song, that the live version is *so* much better, and he actually likes it now! It was very similar to the night before, but still awesome. Next came a huge surprise: 'Proudest Monkey'! I was thrilled, and while most people sat down or didn't dance because of the slower pace and ignorance of non-singles, there was still "exclusive" groups around the arena that were familiar with it, and really enjoyed it. 'Help Myself' was next, which is a really great song. I was a little surprised by this, too, but it was good. It sounds awesome live, much better than it's studio version (found only on the 'Scream 2' soundtrack). '#41' followed, and it was just spectacular. They put so much energy into this song, it was just unbelievable. It was pretty long, I guess about 10-15 minutes, and featured a few solos. I'm pretty sure Bela was out there for that, and maybe that other Flecktone (Butch?). Bela had also been out earlier for 'DDTW'. 'Drive In Drive Out' came next, which was awesome. The ending of that song is just incredible, and the whole song was really good. 'Crush' inevitably came next, and it was really good. I just love this song, even though it's (unfortunately, a la 'Stay') starting to get over-exposed. 'True Reflections' was the next song, and this was just terrific. It had a ton of energy, and it felt really cool to get to hear it, since it really is a somewhat rare song for them to play. 'Two Step' followed; very similar to the night before, but a little longer. It was awesome, and again featured the phat duel between Tim and Bela. Solos were abundant here, and it really sounded great. Although I thought this might end the show, since they usually have 15 songs total, we were thrilled to hear 'Tripping Billies' next, which I had been looking forward to. This was absolutely amazing. Boyd was out of control, the crowd was completely ecstatic, and the arena was jumpin'. It was a great way to end the regular show. The lighters came on in force while the band was off the stage, and, again, went nuts whenever any of the techs picked up an instruments, either 'cause they thought they were a band member, or they were just impatient. Finally, they reappeared, looking very happy. Well, these girls in front of me had been hoping for this song all night (among others), so they finally got their wish. I was surprised to hear it in the encore, but I actually enjoyed 'Lover Lay Down'. It's a nice song, and it sounded great. I was just thrilled that at this point I had only heard 5 repeats. My number one choice for the final encore song was 'Watchtower', then 'Ants Marching', but I figured we'd get 'Crash Into Me', which I know has been used as the encore recently. Well, I just about went nuts when Dave started up 'Watchtower'. It was the perfect end to an incredible show. Not only did they play an extra song tonight compared to last, but they started 5 minutes earlier, and ended 15 minutes later. A treat for this concert was that the band avoided both 'Stay' and 'Crash Into Me', which had both been played the night before. While this fact disappointed many (apparently mostly female) fans, it was nice to get some more variety. Also, while last night featured 4 songs from each of the first two albums, 6 from BTCS, and one unreleased ('I'll Back You Up'), tonight had a more interesting ratio of 1:7:4:4, with only one from the first album, but 4 unreleased, which was awesome. Also, while they played good songs from BTCS, they didn't utilize everything. Crash is a great album, and this was the heart of the concert. Every song they played from this sophomore album was great, and I was impressed with the variety, especially compared to the night before. Overall, the only song I didn't get to hear that I wanted to betwen the two nights was 'Typical Situation', and this was a very small gripe. I enjoyed this show tremendously; it was just perfect. The crowd was good, the band was really "on", and the setlist was "complete" (especially when complemented with last night's performance) and chocked-full. Thanks for reading!

This was the second of the two philly shows i went to and i was doubting that they could out-do last nights show. but sure enough, they did. to see dave and the gang perform shows like this is priceless, especially when tim, bela and jeff coffin are around to help out. i was extremely happy with the setlist choices and who said they dont jam. hey it may not be phish-length jams, but not everybody can get into that stuff. the band found a way to please everybody tonight with a diverse setlist. as for the acoustics, they were better than i thought they'd be. the crowd was really into most of the songs and the energy level was high all night. wow, only 4 repeats from last night. now for the run-down: -Seek Up- you just know its going to be a great show when they open with this. the crowd wasnt fully into this, but overall, a good 15-20 min. version. -Leroi Solo -> PNP -> Rapunzel- this definately woke the crowd up. you know they are going to do it but you love it just the same. just focus on dave the dancing maniac. -SMTS -> ASTB -> Too Much- i predicted this because it was not played last night. standard versions. the crowd was really into this sequence. -Help Myself- i was expecting at least one " unreleased song ( yes i know help myself is on the scream 2 soundtrack ) " and this was really a good treat to hear live. a lot of people sat down but i kept standing and sang my voice dead. -Proudest Monkey- another fairly rare tune that i was treated to. this is always nice to get some diversity and slow things down. again, most people sat down but it was sweet anyway. -Don't Drink the Water ( i might have this out of place )- i am not a huge fan of this song and am confused as to why they play this song every single concert. oh well. standard version w/Bela. -#41- This was certainly a highlight for me as it is one of my favs. they brought out Bela and Jeff Coffin for this one and jammed it out to a length of 15-20 min. with leroi and jeff coffin taking huge amazing solos. -Drive In Drive Out- another song that is not too common. the crowd got into it pretty much. fairly standard version. -Crush- everybody already knows how beautiful this song is. i was glad to hear it both nights. excellent solo by timmy going down to his knees on stage while busting a mad solo. -True Reflections- another one of my favs. this was awesome to hear live. i knew what was up when boyd grabbed the mic. he later had an insane solo. i think i was one of the only ones in my section singing along though. -Two-Step- where do i even begin with this one. another favorite, they have improved this song so much in the last couple of weeks. it started off with stefan's slide solo and it was standard until just when you thought it ended, tim challenges bela to a duel. the two-step jam line then kicks in and tim and bela proceed to match each other, note for note, on amazing solos for about 10 min. what tim does is unheard of. he is ( and i quote ) " the man. " Dave then ends the song while speeding up the tempo. im suprised his hand doesn't fall off. -Tripping Billies- classic closer. boyd was all over this one. rockin' song got the crowd pumped for the encore. Encore: -Lover Lay Down- i was expecting a slow song but i thought it would be typical situation. lover didn't let me down at all though. i pliked this choice as recently they have been slowing it down and then speeding it up with the encore. -Stefan Solo -> All Along the Watchtower- another one of my favs. gets a huge response from philly fans. i thought it was either this or ants that would close it out. this song just doesn't get old in my mind. awesome version with boyd plucking solo, leroi solo, and an awesome tim solo to close it out overall, a great show. i dont know how anyone can complain. best concert i have ever been to. if anybody has any idea how to get some tapes or cdrs of either of these philly shows, please let me know. id be willing to do anything for them. thanks. peace everyone. enjoy these amazing musicians.

WOW! Tonight was a perfect example why a DMB fan must see them more than once, and consecutively if possible. Last night was great...but tonight, well, just look at the setlist...Enough said. Highlights included the incredible "dueling banjos" near the end of Two Step b/t Bela and Tim. They did something similar last night, but for some reason they really were wired in to each other and the crowd as they exchanged virtuoso lick after lick. Hearing Help Myself was awesome and True Reflections was a great addition. The extended #41 jam w/ everyone and Bela's sax player was living proof at what a great jam/improv band they are. The crowd was electric all through the first set from the very first note of Seek Up through Tripping Billies- which was a great song to go off stage before the encore. Plus, I think Dave and the crew were really on tonight and recognized the crowd's magnetism and excitement and played Billies as a special "little extra" since it made it a 15 song setlist when they have been playing mostly 13 and 14 song sets during this leg of the tour. Lover Lay Down and Watchtower made a great encore and finished off an incredible, amazing concert. 2 down 2 to go. Off to the Garden w/ my trusty sidekick Brian. Hopefully our livers will make it through this week! God Bless. Bake McBride

Amazing, amazing show. This was my tenth, and the best by far. It was a true fan's show last night, it really seperated the fans who were there to hear Crash Into Me from those who actually knew the words to True Reflections. I was pleasently surprised to here Seek Up to start the show. It's a good little jam song and it's really gets you warmed up. Panta/Rapunzel was pretty standard, but it was huge in getting the energy going. As if it was not enough, the boys kept on slamming and hit us with the SMTS-Anyone seen the Bridge-Too much combo. As many times as I've heard that combo, I never get tired of it. I wasn't surprised when DDTW was next when Bela came out, but this particular version souded so much better with Tim and Bela filling in. Other hightlights of the show include a quality version of #41 with a beautiful solo by Bela at the end; Boyd singing, what a surprise to hear True Reflections; hearing Proudest Monkey without it being followed by Satellite; no Crash Into Me, thank god because we were surrounded by girls and my ears would not have taken the screaming well; Seeing Dave dance like an animal ALL night long, he was really on fire; Tim and Bela jamming on Two Step, enough said; Tim breaking into Jimmy Page's Stairway to Heaven solo during Watchtower; and last, but not least, just finally seeing Timmy play with the band. The only complaint was that there was NO Davespeak, but we can't have it all. I was really impressed with the setlist because the band stayed away from the radio songs. They played the obligitory three or four songs, but everything else was for the true fans. I mean Proudest Monkey and True Reflections, almost everyone in the stadium was sitting or going to the bathroom while the rest of us lived it up. It was really cool to see that we got something back for sleeping out and waiting in lines. Thanks guys!

This was one of the best indoor shows I've seen. Even though the lighting could have been better, the set was more than I could hope for. He played with such power, he was really into it. Bella did a great accopionment, and Tim was there and as good as usual. There was a keyboardist there. Could that have been Peter Grassier from back in the day?! I took one of my old friends who hadn't seen Dave in concert ever...needless to say he was very happy to be ther. It was worth waking up the next morning at 7 to go to school. Help Myself was outstanding and #41 was one of the better songs he performed. The ony thing I was hung up about was the absence of Beauty of Wyona. But that was forgotten after the stellar performance of True Reflection. High light of the show was the most intense versons of Watchtower I've seen. Great Job David!
