Dave did bits from Shook me all night long, and a lynrd skinard impression,Too much also had Golden Years, DDTW had this land is your land, Wynona was intro'd as a Song by Lanois, Xmas had both All you need is love, and Can't buy me love. Dave called Lovett a bad ass man. The crowd was INREDIBLE, no one stood at all during the whole show, quite during the songs, only 15 or so left during the songs (that's 15 people, not 15%). For those who are interested in such things, the Original Set had One Sweet World, IBYU, and Typical. Two Step was supposed to be played in the slot where Crash was. Dave talked about being a woman (In response to someone shouting, you're the man) 10 second acid trips, Ashley's cat, and how a dog eats it shit, it stands in the litterbox but shits outside it, and How he tried to pour the litter in the toilet and clogged it. Told some South Africa stories, about his friend John falling asleep at the play "The odd couple" and about big voice Jack in Soweto. Did both the big Jack, and the South African accents impeccably. He also talked about the origins of the songs. Crash is a voyeur song, and Dave made a joke about a psycho standing in the bushes saying crash into me, while a woman called 911. Xmas was intro'd as a song he wrote while mourning. And he said something really funny, regarding the "Gamblers and robbers" line. He said he always has this nightmare we he sings "Gamblers and Robbers, somebody farted". It was hilarious. And he said if Spotlight was a thing it would be a turd. Someone called for Rapunzel, and Dave said "but How can I play that without the back beat?", and then vocalized Carter's drum hits. he didn't have to say anything to the crowd...we were so mellow he made a joke that maybe we were all asleep. Tim Solos seemed to have pieces of stream, letting go, and you are my sanity. Excellent, all in all. And as the tour bush pulled away, I stood there with my South African flag and got a big Thumbs up from Dave. Great end to a great night. And BTW there were a good 8 tapers there at least, so getting copies shouldn't be a problem.
