Overall a really good show although I don't really like DDTW as an opener. It was really cool that the band played Pig just as it started to rain. Stephan had some great solos thorught, espically in the short jam between LIOG and Too Much. Leroi once again took over the show. The #40 tease pretty much made the concert despite the fact that my girlfriend and I were the only people within a 100 feet that knew the song. I was really suprised I didn't get to hear Tripping, #41, or Two Step. Hopefully I'll get to hear them in KC. Great concert.

WOW! After coming over in a very huge thunderstorm from Granite City, Illinois, I didn't know what to expect. It began to clear off as we got off at the Earth City Expressway, so I figured things would turn out for the better. And, it did. The Neville Brothers were alright, I didn't have any complaints about them. I saw about 10 mic stands going up, and the tapers I talked with were very friendly. On to the show.. I won't do a blow-by-blow review here in order to save space, but it was good. We got a #40 tease! The signs that me and another couple of Nancies helped pass out really worked, I think. Anyway, the opener of DDTW wasn't too bad, and I really was hoping to hear the "This land..", but to no avail. On WWYS, Dave screwed up the first line by starting the song with "I was there when the bear ate his head..." then he restarted at the beginning after that verse, never missing a beat! Jimi Thing's jam was extra reminiciant of the old-style jams, especially at the end. It lasted for a long, long wonderful time. The Song That Jane Likes was a suprise! Crush had a super jam going on, with the boys in a jam circule around LeRoi's area. LIOG!! SPECTACULAR! Boyd was all over the stage, skipping, jumping, dancing around, getting down near the crowd and really getting into it all. He was doing a great job. The boys went offstage at 10:09 and came back around 10:15, and played the #40 tease with a really good version of Long Black Veil to follow. All in all, a very nice show, very powerful, and the lights were spectacular. Till we dance away... -Joe Shambro

I've been the hugest Dave fan for years doing tons of trading and hearing a ton of liv stuff, but have never been to a show. And as my first show, this one blew me away. He had about a 15 minute jam on Jimi Thing and about a 20 minute jam on Crush. The place was packed and everyone was having a great time. He's leaving St. Louis for a few days only to be back on Wednesday. I'll definitely be there!

The only good thing that I can say about "Warehouse" is that it kept me out of the rain last night!! So thanks for that...now on to the show. Decent setlist, however, not the best show that I have seen. I dont know what it is about Riverport, it just does not seem to be loud enough and I was even in the 28th row. Everyone seemed to be on que, but Jimi started off a little out of tempo. When Dave was singing Crash, his voice seemed to be a little wimpered (not sure sure if it was from the accident) but for those who do trade shows, if you ever get this show, you will know what I am talking about. The rest of the show was pretty much the same as any other. Not too much talking from Dave, but plenty of his own talking from Mr. Boyd Tinsley on the VIOLIN. Man he was all over the stage. Glad to see him get some attention!! I was glad to hear the tease of #40 and also another first timer, first time I had heard STJL too, the boys always keep me comming back!!

The morning after, and the sweet melodies of the Dave Matthews Band are still ringing in my ears. I was pretty surprised with the order and lineup that the boys chose tonight, but it definitely worked for them. DDTW is a great opener-- it got the crowd ready for an interesting evening. This was my first summer show, fourth overall, so I wasn't quite sure what to expect. As they have been doing all tour, they mixed the setlist up pretty well. The Stone and Pig were right on, and left the crowd wondering what would be next. Although it doesn't get a lot of props all the time, Rhyme and Reason is a GREAT song, especially live-- despite the fact that a fan asked me if it was Satellite in the middle of it. My personal highlight was hearing TSJL for the first time live--- it was a great surprise, and a decent number of people seemed to know it. Overall, the crowd was pretty receptive, and seemed to know almost all of the songs, except for LBV and the #40 tease. Finally, B oyd expended himself by going completely nuts during LIOG-- he seemed to be a little out of it after going all over the stage for his AWESOME AWESOME 8 minute solo. It seemed the boys played what they wanted to, and myself and the entire crowd loved it.

WOW! this was my fourth show, but it was my favorite! Although i could only manage to get lawn seats for this, i thoutoughly enjoyed it. They opened up with DDTW, which personally i always love to hear, but nothing new about this one. Then, for some reason his guitar connection wasn't working for The Stone, so we could see him playing on the video screen but couldnt hear anything, but they solved that problem and that song sounded sweet! Around that time it began to rain, i was rather wet at this point. Pig was great, I have waznted to hear Pig forever and they finally played it, it was still raining during this song by the way.

Highlights were numerous, unlike Grand Rapids last month. The boys seemed to be having a pretty good time. STONE is always cool to hear, and the cameramen did a great job showing Dave play this song. I really like watching him play on this song for some reason, as if his hands are dancing on the guitar. PIG was a definite surprise, probably one of my favorite songs from BTCS. Dave mixed up the lyrics a little, a new line or two that sounded cool. RHYME AND REASON usually isn't a song I like, but this version seemed to add a little more than usual. Carter did an extended intro, the first time I had ever heard that. He tapped the edge of a drum (or is it a woodblock-type thing?) for much longer than usual. STJL was great to hear. Although it doesn't sound much different live than it does on R2T, it's a lot of fun to hear "I have a little sister named Jane, and this is the Song That Jane Likes." LIOG always impresses live. Give Boyd a couple minutes to prance around t he stage with a solo and you are sure to have something cool. In my opinion, Boyd is the best straight-up entertainer in the group. SMTS --> ASTB --> TOO MUCH is a great way to close the set. 10 minutes of music, everyone singing and dancing, regardless of how many times they've played these tunes in the past, is a lot of fun. I still have yet to think the ASTB segue is getting old. For the encore, the #40 signs were out in effect, and Dave came through with a little version of #40. He sang one verse, with lyrics different from any version I've heard before, much different from '95 and that at the United Center last December. A nice version of LONG BLACK VEIL appeared before the crowd-pleasing ANTS closed out the show. Overall, it wasn't a spectacular show, but very enjoyable. The setlist was varied and the appearance of PIG, STJL, and #40 were surprises. Could tomorrow night's show be better? I hoped so, and Dave came through.
