The purest show ever, Dave's voice was amazing (no big toad in his throat like 08/26/01 from the gorge) and the Paramount theatre is the best Venue for a solo show. The order of songs might be wrong, but that is everything he played. This was the first show of the week long Groundwork 2001 effort and the Blind Boys of Alabama are awesome. Dave also made an appearance on the last song of Emmylou Harris's set, and it sounded nice

I was able to watch Groundworks online through RealPlayer, and it was awesome. It opened with Stone, played like it always has been, with the Wise Men outro. Dave was awesome, and kept motioning for the technical staff to increase the volume on the guitar. After, Dave played Crush. He added a verse in where Boyd usually goes nuts during the jam. I'm debating about which one I like better. Dave is simply awesome. Next, he says "this is one only released on the Internet," and plays a little Grace is Gone. Following that, he drops the D, and treats the crowd with Bartender. The Everyday tunes came next, with When the World Ends, followed by Space Between. Dave then played a nice rendition of Watchtower. Here's when the set got awesome. Dave tells the crowd that he's going to play a new one, and debutes Where Are You Going... also known as Superman. It's a really solid song reminiscient of Grace is Gone. He then brings out Emmy Lou Harris and Daniel Lanois, to play one of Lanois' songs, The Maker. Fresh off of Live in Chicago, this absolutely kicked ass. The encore was Aint if Funny. I was hoping for Ants, but that was it. Solid set... I'm glad I got to watch it. Here's to hoping for another tour soon! -Rob
