This was my third DMB experience, but I am crazy about the band and the music. I splurged and bought fourth row center seats. I was watching the setlists approaching this show, so I predicted the PNP into R opener. Wonderful way to begin a show. Crash slowed things down a bit right away, but one of my favs nonetheless. BEF into Bartender was clearly a highlight. Songs with serious energy were Hunger, Bayou, Crush, Stay, and Billies. Billies had a neat little opener this year -- did not recognize the song right away. Dave did a lot of talking this year, unlike last year. He poked fun (rightfully so) at the Cardinals new football stadium, saying it looked like a big silver hamburger. He also joked that if they outlawed air conditioning in this town that there would be a "whole lot of pissed off people." He went out of his way to introduce Rashawn a couple of times, and the introduction to Sister he told a story about when his sister was born, that her heart went into his chest and his heart went into her chest. A genuine story for a great new song. Was happy that Dreamgirl showed up on the setlist, as the band had not played it a whole lot until the Texas shows. Overall, a terrific performance -- I had not seen many of the songs performed live as of yet. Getting ready for the Gorge this year -- my first trip. Gotta see the band as long as they're still going strong!!
Thanks, Dave and the band, for keeping this going and playing for us. We love every minute, every note, every bit of energy you give to us.
