Riot at Hartford
By Waldo JaquithSays Rolling Stone, "it seems that wherever the Dave Matthews Band plays, a riot breaks out." That certainly was the case at the Hartford shows this weekend. On Saturday, about 1,000 drunken folks in a parking lot outside the Meadows Music Theatre fought, broke into cars (even burned one), inhaled nitrous and smoked weed. Police intervened, and they all attacked the cops.
Things weren't much better on Sunday, when police had to go after people with rubber bullets and pepper-spray. A total of 55 people were arrested.
Fortunately, it seems that most people weren't even there to see the show, just to party. It's been said every 2.35 seconds on Nancies, but I'll say it again: "Where's the love?"
