MTVTV

Charlottesville writer Scott Herman has a brief, amusing, tongue-in-cheek essay about the state of MTV, entitled "The Revolution Will Be In Heavy Rotation." It's well worth reading. Scott analyzes (and pokes fun at) MTV's decreasing number of videos and increasing number of shows about themselves. DMB and the nature of their MTV appearances is one of the most debated aspects of the band's publicity, largely due to mixed feelings about the music network. It seems likely that DMB's new DVD release, "The Videos 1994-2001," is an effort to make up for the lack of exposure that the videos have gotten on MTV.
