2002 Tour Starts in D.C.

Last night's tour opener at D.C.'s MCI Center brought about a mix of radio hits ("Too Much," "What Would You Say," "I Did It"), songs that are likely to appear on the new album ("Busted Stuff," "Raven," "Big Eyed Fish," etc.) and the first full-band performance of "Where Are You Going." They even played "Don't Burn the Pig" for the first time since 1999. But this wasn't just the beginning of a new tour; it was the beginning of a new style of album promotion for DMB. Devon Cavanagh writes about this in his newest article in his "From the Historical Perspective" series, "2002 Tour Kicks Off."
