Central Park Concert Press Conference

New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg held a press conference this morning to formally announce the September 24th Dave Matthews Band concert in Central Park. With Dave Matthews and Boyd Tinsley in attendance, Mayor Bloomberg and a series of NYC notables were highly complimentary to DMB and equally so to sponsor AOL Time Warner. (This DMB-AOL relationship may be the fruits of Dave Matthews' solo performance at the bat mitzvah of an AOL Time Warner executive's daughter in March of 2002.) Both Dave and Boyd spoke briefly, with Dave citing Simon and Garfunkel's legendary Central Park performance as an inspiration to him. Mayor Bloomberg intends to attend the concert.
